ARTIST PROFILE
Abiodun Pelumi Owolabi was born December 17, 1994 in Lagos, Nigeria. He was raised in Magodo. He studied Business Administration in the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
He began his music career as a producer, making beats for artists. He started singing in 2020, releasing his debut single “Gorilla Compton” in March 2020. The other artist that inspires him is Future.
After his debut single, he decided to “do it all” making himself an independent producer, mix and master engineer, singer and songwriter. He immediately began working on new music. Not long after, he dropped his debut album “Magodo Boy” paying tribute to where he was brought up. When interviewed about his album, he said “This project is to test my abilities, this is just the beginning”. His genre is Afro-fusion and is known for the uniqueness of his beats which have a melodious 808 bass regardless of the fact that he is an Afro artist.
His other hobbies include football. He plays for a small football club in Lagos known as Magic 11 as a striker. Football was his first love even before music because it was an avenue to express himself in a community where survival is everything. He explains this in the last song of his album (Magodo Boy Outro).
A few months after the release of his first studio album, Biodun is ready to drop his first EP “Heartbreaker”. He is collaborating with another artist for the first time on the second song of the EP “Outside” featuring Desua. The EP is scheduled to be released in the coming days. There is no doubt that this project is going to be a breathtaking one as Biodun described it as “The expression of his soul and mind”, “The rise of the underdog” and “A sign of better things to come”
